Visteon Corp. will supply its integrated cockpit domain controller to China’s Geely Auto Group for the carmaker’s new electric vehicle platform.
The application will integrate Geely's GKUI technology for cloud-based connectivity features with Visteon’s SmartCore controller and systems for instrument clusters and head-up displays. The EV platform will carry a variety of vehicles for Geely and its new Lynk & Co. brand.
Visteon touts SmartCore as the industry's first cockpit domain controller platform. The company launched the product earlier this year with an unnamed European carmaker. The system-on-a-chip device can manage multiple cockpit systems and other in-vehicle electronic devices, which Visteon says cuts costs and improves efficiency and security.
