Visteon Corp. will launch its next-generation Phoenix infotainment platform in January at CES in Las Vegas.

The company describes Phoenix as the first automotive infotainment system to offer software development kits and software simulation for third-party app developers. The system, which is based on HTML5 and offers a JavaScript-based application program interface, features built-in cybersecurity and over-the-air updates.

Visteon also will display a specially equipped vehicle that includes the company's instrument clusters, head-up displays, information displays, infotainment and connectivity systems. In addition, the company will demonstrate an organic light-emitting diode system with dual-view displays that show different content based on viewing angle. Visteon also will showcase its SmartCore cockpit domain controller that integrates various electronic systems and functions.

This will be Visteon's 18th year at the annual consumer electronics show, which has become increasingly automotive focused in recent years.
