Visteon Corp. has appointed Sachin Lawande to become its new president and CEO, effective June 29.

Lawande, 48, succeeds Tim Leuliette, who announced in March that he intended to leave the company after three years as CEO.

Lawande had been president of the $3 billion-per-year infotainment unit of Stamford, Conn.-based Harman International Industries Inc. Visteon says his background in the automotive, technology and software industries will enable him to lead the company's focus on vehicle connectivity.

Under Leuliette's leadership, Visteon sold its lighting division, much of its interiors business and its stake in South Korea-based Halla Visteon Climate Control. The company also acquired Johnson Controls' electronics unit and Cooper Standard Automotive's thermal and emission businesses.
