Chrysler Group LLC says the 2013 SRT Viper supercar will retail at a base price of $99,400 when it goes on sale in November. The GTS Coupe will start at $122,400.
Each model will be propelled by an 8.4-liter, V-10 engine that makes 640 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual Tremec gearbox is the only transmission available.
Chrysler stopped making the Dodge Viper two years ago. The entirely redesigned new model, no longer a Dodge, is lighter, more powerful, faster and more refined. The rear suspension has been redesigned, and Chrysler says the new Viper has 50% greater torsional rigidity.
Compared to the standard Viper, the GTS adds such features as a standard two-mode adjustable suspension, four-mode electronic stability control, unique trim and wheel design, special exterior colors, all-leather interior and NVH reduction treatments.
The SRT Viper goes into production in November at Chrysler's Conner Avenue (Detroit) Assembly Plant where the previous Viper was built.
