U.S. Recalls Soar to Record High

Last year's volume was nearly three times the 22.1 million vehicles recalled in 2013. Last year carmakers also set a new record for the number of campaigns, 804, compared with the previous high of 684 conducted in 2008.
General Motors Co., which launched 82 recalls in the U.S. in 2014, accounted for about 27 million of the vehicles in last year's NHTSA total.
