More than two dozen owner complaints have prompted a U.S. investigation into “sudden and complete loss of brakes” in 2015-2016 model Ford F-150 pickup trucks.
The probe affects about 282,000 trucks equipped with 3.5-liter V-6 gasoline engines.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the investigation is associated with a recall Ford announced in July that involves 225,000 of the company’s 2013-2014 model F-150s. The earlier campaign targets a leaky brake master cylinder that could cause the front brakes (but not the rears) to fail.
