U.S. Launches Probe into Stalling Dodge Minivans
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened a preliminary investigation into complaints about engine stalling in Chrysler Group LLC's Dodge Grand Caravan minivans.The probe will focus initially on complaints involving 2007 models but says it also will study other similarly equipped Chrysler minivans.Owners report engine stalling shortly after refueling their vehicles.

Reuters estimates NHTSA has received more than 100 complaints about the problem in 2004-2007 Dodge Caravans and Grand Caravans and Chrysler Town and Country minivans.The news agency says the problem appears to increase as the vehicles age. Several customer complaints blame the failure on a faulty fuel tank valve.
