New-car dealers in the U.S. sold an average 966 vehicles per store in 2015, their fourth consecutive record high, according to Urban Science Inc. Last year dealers averaged 904 sales per outlet.

The Detroit-based market analysis company says the number of dealerships in the U.S. grew by 134 outlets to nearly 18,100 last year. Most of the additions came in Texas, California and Florida. But 96% of local markets experienced no net change.

Urban Science predicts dealers will come close to matching last year’s result in 2016 but may not surpass it.
