U.K. Jobless Rate Drops to 8%

British employers added 46,000 jobs during the April-June period, thus pushing the number of jobless down to 2.6 million people, according to the country's Office for National Statistics.

The unemployment rate fell to 8% from 8.2% in the first quarter of this year.

But the number of Britons working part time because full-time jobs were unavailable rose by 16,000 to 1.4 million workers, the highest level since ONS began tracking the data in 1992.
