The surge coincides with a 12-year peak in the GfK Consumer Confidence Index. SMMT predicts continued strong sales fueled by new products, low interest rates and attractive financing offers.
Car sales in the U.K. have been on the rise for 38 consecutive months. Year-to-date registrations through April totaled 920,400 units, up 6% from the same period in 2014, according to SMMT.
