U.S. domestic carmakers will pay combined profit sharing of about $780 million this spring to the roughly 122,000 member of the United Auto Workers union they employ.
GM said on Thursday that each of its 49,000 UAW-represented employees would receive a profit-sharing bonus of as much as $6,750 next month compared with $7,000 last year.
Ford will send checks averaging $8,300 to its 45,8000 U.S. hourly employees in March, up from $6,200 last year.
Chrysler paid its 31,000 UAW workers an average of $2,250 apiece in February compared with $1.500 in 2012.
