Typhoon Stalls Production at Toyota, Mitsubishi

Typhoon Phanfone, which swept across Japan on Monday, halted production at 12 Toyota Motor Corp. factories and one operated by Mitsubishi Motors Corp., according to Reuters.

The news service says operations were unaffected at Honda, Mazda, Nissan and Suzuki facilities.

Government officials report Phanfone, Japan's 18th typhoon this year, left one person dead, dozens injured and at least six missing. The storm canceled more than 500 airline flights, 100 bullet train runs and numerous commuter trains, The Nikkei reports.
