Two More Senior Tesla Execs Quit

Tesla Motors Inc. confirms that its two top production executives are leaving the company.
The departing managers are Greg Reichow, vice president of production, and Josh Ensign, vice president of manufacturing. Reichow joined the electric carmaker in 2011 from a solar panel manufacturer. Ensign arrived in 2014 from Honeywell.
Tesla insists neither executive is leaving because of the design and production problems that caused an 18-month delay in launching the Model X crossover vehicle with its “falcon wing” rear doors. The company says Reichow is taking a leave of absence, but it also say he will remain only until his replacement is found.
CEO Elon Musk has admitted the company overreached in loading the Model X with overly complex features for a brand new model. The departure of his production leaders comes at an awkward moment, when the company is gearing up to launch its high-volume Model 3 electric sedan.
The two executives join three vice presidents of finance, global communications and regulatory/legal who left Tesla earlier this year. Bloomberg says Reichow, who received more than $6 million in compensation over the past two years, is the most senior leader to quit.
