The death toll attributed to the faulty ignition switch that prompted General Motors Co. to recall 2.6 million cars last year has grown to 111 from 109 a week ago.

The independent fund handling claims also increased the number of injury claims ruled eligible for compensation by 12. The fund, which has received 4,342 applications for compensation, still has 191 to review, including 22 that involve fatalities.
