TRW Third-Quarter Earnings Rise 3%

TRW Automotive Holdings Corp. netted $163 million from July through September this year compared with $158 million in the same period of 2011.

Excluding special items, income slid $20 million year over year to $157 million in the third quarter because of higher taxes.

Revenue edged up 1% to $4 billion, dampened by unfavorable exchange rates and lower sales in Europe. The company says it is assessing its European cost base and expects to take unidentified restructuring actions.

TRW expects full-year revenue of as much as $16.3 billion.
