Registrations advanced in France (+1% to 37,500 units), the U.K. (+23% to 29,200) Germany (+7% to 28,400), Spain (+19% to 14,600) and Italy (+9% to 11,900). Market volume was aided by big increases among many of the region's smaller markets.
Demand for light commercial vehicles increased 12% to 145,200 units last month. Heavy truck sales surged 20% to 22,100 vehicles.
Combined commercial vehicle sales through the first four months of 2015 climbed 13% to 696,400 units across Europe. Deliveries in France were flat for the period. But sales rose in Germany (+7% to 103,300), the U.K. (+24% to 138,800), Spain (+35% to 55,600) and Italy (+8% to 46,400).
