Truck Sales in Europe Grew 13% in June

Registrations of commercial trucks and buses in Europe climbed to 231,200 units in June from 204,500 in the same month last year, industry group ACEA reports. Sales through the first half of 2016 expanded 13% to 1.21 million vehicles.

Four of Europe’s largest truck markets posted double-digit increases last month. Volume jumped in France (+11% to 50,900 units), Germany (+11% to 35,200), Italy (+30% to 16,600) and Spain (+15% to 19,700). Deliveries advanced 3% to 41,700 units in the U.K.

Demand for light commercial vehicles grew 14% to 193,100 units in June and 13% to 1 million in the first six months of the year. Sales of heavy trucks rose 13% to 26,900 vehicles last month and 17% to 151,100 in the first half, according to ACEA.
