Toyota Motor Corp. is extending shipments of Corolla small sedans it makes in Thailand to the Middle East and Oceania, The Nikkei reports.
Toyota has been supplying Corollas to those two markets from Japan. Until now, its Gateway factory in Chachoengsao, Thailand, has exported vehicles only to neighboring southeast Asian countries.
The shift in sourcing reflects Toyota's plan to relocate all Corolla production outside Japan except for units intended for the domestic market, according to The Nikkei.
