Toyota to Replace Airbag Inflators in 65,000 Cars, Again
Toyota Motor Corp. is recalling 65,000 Toyota and Lexus vehicles in the U.S. to again replace airbag inflators that might explode in a crash.

Toyota Motor Corp. is recalling 65,000 Toyota and Lexus vehicles in the U.S. to again replace Takata Corp. airbag inflators that might explode in a crash.
The callback targets the passenger-side front airbags in 2002-2005 model Lexus SC sport coupes and Toyota-brand 2003-2005 model Corolla sedans (pictured), 2002-2005 Sequoia large SUVs and 2003-2005 Tundra fullsize pickup trucks.
The affected vehicles may have had their Takata inflators replaced with an improved Takata inflator during a previous recall. This time Toyota wants to replace the devices with inflators made by another company.
Toyota plans to begin the recall in January, a year before the campaign is scheduled under the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s phased recall plan.
