Toyota Motor Corp. is preparing to recall 442,500 Lexus luxury cars in the U.S. to repair a fuel system leak that could cause a fire, Reuters reports.
A fuel leak may occur from a loose fuel pressure sensor, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The campaign covers 2006-2011 GS midsize sedans, 2006-2011 IS sport sedans and 2007-2010 LS large sedans. The recall follows an attempt in 2011 to fix the same problem in 244,800 GS and IS models.
Reuters says Toyota plans to begin notifying affected Lexus owners in December.
