Toyota Motor Corp. plans to add 10 electrified vehicles to its China lineup by 2020.

The rollout will start next year with plug-in hybrid versions of the Corolla (pictured) and Levin sedans. Toyota unveiled the plug-in models, which will be built in China, this week at the Beijing auto show. The carmaker already produces and sells conventional hybrid versions of the vehicles in China.

The Corolla and Levin plug-in hybrids will be followed in 2020 by a pair of all-electric models based on Toyota’s twin C-HR and Izoa compact crossover vehicles. Toyota sells conventionally powered versions of the vehicles through its joint ventures with Guangzhou Automobile Group (the C-HR) and FAW Group (Izoa).

To support the new models, Toyota says it will increase annual production of nickel-metal hydride battery modules at two existing Chinese factories to 220,000 units by 2020. The company also plans to open a local battery testing facility by that time.
