Toyota Motor Corp. says it will update seatbelt control software in 50,000 of its 2014 model Highlander midsize crossover vehicles, including hybrid versions, in the U.S.
The flawed software may prevent the front passenger's seatbelt from tightening sufficiently in a crash, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Toyota is expected to begin the recall in mid-June.
