Toyota Recalls 1.7 Million Vehicles Worldwide

Toyota Motor Corp. is preparing to recall 1.67 million vehicles worldwide to remedy three brake and fuel system defects, Reuters reports. The campaign will involve a wide variety of Toyota and Lexus brand vehicles.
In Japan, the company is calling back about 802,000 Crown/Crown Majesta, Noah and Voxy vehicles built between mid-2007 and mid-2012. Dealers will replace a rubber seal in the brake master cylinder or replace the unit if it is already leaking brake fluid.
About 203,000 vehicles overseas, including Lexus-branded variants, will receive the same repair. Among them are 93,700 Toyota Crown sedans sold in China.
A second recall will replace flawed fuel lines in 759,000 vehicles 423,000 in the U.S. that could leak and cause a fire. Some affected vehicles are included in the brake system recall.
Reuters says Toyota's third campaign will fix the fuel evaporative emission control system in about 190,000 Corolla Rumion and Auris models made between October 2006 and October 2014 and sold in Japan.
