Toyota Motor Corp. predicts its group sales in 2016 will total 10.11 million units compared with 10.10 million this year. The company delivered 10.20 million vehicles in 2014.

Toyota and its Daihatsu and Hino affiliates expect to produce a combined 10.20 million vehicles in 2016. That compares with a projected 10.13 million units this year and 10.33 million in 2014.

The dip in 2015 will be the company’s first retreat in sales and output since 2011, when the Japanese earthquake and tsunami disrupted both activities. The company attributes the decline to weak emerging markets, especially in southeast Asia.

Toyota says it aims to bolster sales in Japan and the U.S. next year enough to offset declines of 10% in the Middle East and 4% in Asia outside China.
