Toyota Expands Takata Airbag Inflator Recall in Canada

Toyota Motor Corp. has added 33,300 vehicles to those already being recalled in Canada to replace Takata Corp. airbag inflators that could explode in a crash, Reuters reports. The new devices all are front passenger-side inflators.
Toyota has now called back 400,100 vehicles in the country since 2013, according to Transport Canada. The campaigns include Toyota RAV4 crossovers, Corolla sedans, Matrix MPVs, Sequoia large SUVs and Tundra pickup trucks, plus Lexus SC 430 hardtop convertible coupes.
Reuters says Toyota has so far recalled 15.3 million vehicles worldwide to replace Takata inflators in the front driver and/or passenger airbag system.
