Toyota Breaks Ground for Texas Headquarters

Toyota Motor Co. has broken ground for its new headquarters in Plano, Tex. The facility is expected to be completed by early 2017.

Toyota announced in April it would move its U.S. headquarters to Texas from Torrance, Calif. The company relocated a few staffers to temporary quarters in Plano last summer. The relocation will eventually affect 4,000 employees in California.

The new headquarters will consolidate the company's North American corporate, manufacturing and sales/marketing operations.
