Tower Names New Chief of Europe Unit

Tower International Inc. has hired Par Malmhagen to become president of its European unit on June 1. He will report to Tower CEO Mark Malcolm.

Malmhagen will succeed Gyula Meleghy, who retired this week after 30 years at the company. Malcolm will oversee the European business in the interim.

Malmhagen will join Michigan-based Tower from Autoliv, where he was vice president of European sales operations and the VW business unit. In 20 years at Autoliv Malmhagen held a series of finance, sales and international jobs.

Tower also put CFO Jim Gouin in charge of its China unit. Xu Peipei, president of Tower China will report to Gouin.
