Titan Abrasive Blast Room Supports Southeastern Industrial's Versatile Surface Preparation

Titan Abrasive Systems (Ivyland, Pennsylvania), a designer and manufacturer of quality surface preparation, surface finishing and abrasive blasting equipment, announces the purchase of a new abrasive blast room by Southeastern Industrial Coatings LLC (Mobile, Alabama). According to company manager David McDade, the blast room was purchased in July 2025. It will be used to blast a wide range of parts, including pipe, gearboxes, pumps, structural steel and automotive components.

The Titan blast room will be installed in Southeastern’s new facility, constructed because the company has outgrown its current location. To ensure blasting operation continuity, the old room will not be shut down until the Titan room is installed in the new facility. Though the current blast room is from a different supplier, Southeastern President Roy Parker elected to inspect other models and was impressed by the quality of the Titan offering, leading to the decision to switch suppliers.

Southeastern will operate the Titan room in a similar fashion to its existing equipment: some parts will undergo blasting only, while others will be painted or powder coated afterward per customer specifications. The smooth finish created by the abrasive blasting operation provides a surface that improves adhesion of paint and other coatings. The Titan blast room is 15 feet wide × 12 feet high × 25 feet long. It will be equipped with a mechanical recovery system with rotary drum and air wash (sweep-in style). A 10,000-CFM cartridge dust collector will help protect both workers and products. Titan is also providing turnkey installation and training.

For the parts that will be painted or finished after blasting, Southeastern also purchased a Global Finishing Solutions (Osseo, Wisconsin) paint booth, with Titan serving as a distributor.
