Tesla Software Update to Address “Range Anxiety”

Tesla Motors Inc. says it will announce a software update on Thursday to "end range anxiety" for drivers of its Model S electric sedans.

CEO Elon Musk offers no details about how the update, which will be delivered wirelessly to the car, will soothe owner concerns about running out of battery power in mid-trip. Model S cars are already equipped with a touchscreen that can show the driver how to reach nearby charging stations.
