Tesla Motors Inc. and Swiss-based Hoerbiger Automotive Comfort Systems LLC have reached a settlement over problems with the hydraulic “falcon wing” door system Hoerbiger supplied for the Tesla Model X electric crossover vehicle.
The two companies are still resolving certain conditions of the settlement and must file a joint statement of agreement to the court by Oct. 13, Reuters reports.
Tesla conceded the gullwing door system it specified was complex. But it declared Hoerbiger’s design “unworkable” and eventually switched to another supplier.
