Tesla Motors Inc. has hired Anders Bell from Volvo Car Corp. to head the electric vehicle maker’s interior engineering operations.
The hiring was first reported by Electrek, which cites Bell’s LinkedIn profile. The online newsletter notes that Bell will be tasked with upgrading Tesla’s interior design, which has been widely panned.
Bell had spent his entire 19-year career at Volvo, including a four-year stint at parent Geely Automobile Co.’s operations in China, where he assisted in the local launch of the Volvo XC60 SUV. He also led interior design for the latest S90 sedan, XC90 SUV and V90 wagon flagship models.
