Tesla Inc. reports it sold a record 101,300 all-electric cars last year, up 33% from its result in 2016.
The company’s fourth-quarter sales reached 29,900 vehicles, including 1,600 of its recently introduced Model 3 sedan. The company, which built 24,600 Model 3s during the same period, says it has made “major progress” in overcoming bottlenecks that have hobbled output.
Tesla expects to achieve weekly production rates of about 2,500 Model 3 cars by the end of March and 5,000 by the end of June.
