Motec Ventures GmbH, a Berlin-based growth fund for new mobility tech startups, has appointed entrepreneur and design expert Henrik Fisker to its advisory board.
Launched in June, Motec is jointly owned by German consultants e&Co and Austrian venture capital firm Venionaire Capital. Motec aims to cultivate emerging startups and coordinate partnerships for them with established carmakers and suppliers to help develop and commercialize new technologies.
Fisker will work with Motec’s co-managing directors Berthold Baurek-Karlic and Geza Brugger on management and new technology issues. In addition, Fisker’s self-named electric vehicle company could serve as a co-investor with Motec on companies and technologies related to its vehicles and proprietary solid-state batteries.
The partners plan to target tech startups and engineering talent worldwide. But Motec says it will focus on Austria, China, Germany, Italy, India and Switzerland.
