Tata Motors Ltd. has put Suresh Rangarajan, who heads the company’s corporate communications department, on leave following allegations of inappropriate behavior with female employees.
On a Twitter post, the Indian carmaker said the move will enable the quick completion of “an objective inquiry” by an internal panel into the matter.
Rangarajan declined to comment. He is the latest among a growing number of high-profile men in India who have been accused of sexual harassment amid the global #MeToo movement.
According to his LinkedIn account, Rangarajan joined Tata in September 2016. He previously held executive positions in communications for the India operations of Nissan, Rediffusion Public Relations, Vodafone and Vaishnavi, a communications consulting firm that did business with Tata.
