A Takata Corp. subsidiary in Detroit says the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation searched its offices on Tuesday, apparently as part of an international investigation into price fixing.

A year ago, the FBI raided the Detroit area offices of Denso, Tokai Rika and Yazaki as part of the investigation, which also is being carried out in Europe and Japan. The probe aims to determine whether automotive wiring harness and electronics suppliers formed an illegal cartel to control prices. Takata says this week's FBI raid sought all communications with competitors dating back to 2005.

Other companies involved in the global probe in at least one of the regions are Delphi, Furukawa Electric, Lear, Leoni and Sumitomo Electric.
