Suzuki Recall Will Fix Faulty Headlamp Circuit

Next month Suzuki Motor Corp. plans to begin recalling 101,700 vehicles in the U.S. to reattach wires that could come loose and prevent the headlamps from illuminating.

Next month Suzuki Motor Corp. plans to begin recalling 101,700 vehicles in the U.S. to reattach wires that could come loose and prevent the headlamps from illuminating.

The campaign involves 2004-2006 Forenza sedans and 2005-2006 Reno five-door hatchbacks. Suzuki also is expected to recall an unspecified number of cars in Canada, where the problem was first reported by Transport Canada in February.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says certain wiring harness connections to a splice pack behind the instrument panel were not secure. Over time, those connections could overheat and melt the splice pack, thus causing intermittent or total failure of the headlamps.
