Suzuki Maruti Launches Baleno Exports to Europe, Japan

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. has begun shipping its next-generation Baleno hatchback to Europe and Japan, where the car will be marketed by parent company Suzuki Motor Corp.

Suzuki showed the vehicle in concept form at the Frankfurt show last September. The production version will be unveiled this week at the Geneva auto show. The Baleno, which will compete with the Ford Fiesta, Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo, is being sourced exclusively from Marui Suzuki’s factory in Manesar.

Maruti Suzuki plans eventually to export the car to more than 100 global markets. The company is selling the new model in India through its new upscale Nexa dealership network.
