Supplier Touts “Automotive Grade” Blu-Ray System

Cinemo GmbH has launched production of what it calls the industry's first "automotive-grade" middleware for Blu-ray DVDs. The Karlsruhe, Germany-based company demonstrated the system earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Cinemo says the system-on-a-chip technology is designed to meet the unique quality, durability and performance requirements for in-vehicle applications. It can be used with a variety of CPUs and operating systems and is optimized to play Blu-ray movies on automotive head units and stream them to multiple connected devices.
