Volkswagen AG says production at three of its factories in Germany is being disrupted by supply chain problems.

The company reports a shortage of transmission components has slowed output at its plant in Kassel, and an unnamed supplier is refusing to deliver parts to VW’s huge complex in Wolfsburg. German media reports say the Wolfsburg facility's supply of the parts may run out next week.

Earlier this week the VW said it would reduce shifts at its plant in Emden because of a shortage of seats from an outside supplier. Last month the company suspended production for two days in Martorell, Spain, because of a strike at another seating supplier.
