Orlando, Fla.-based VoxHirschmann Corp. says it has won a contract to supply its long-range remote start system to Subaru Corp., which will offer the technology as an option on its Forester, Legacy and Outback models.

The system extends the range of a remote start keyfob to as far as 1,000 ft, which Voxx says is three to four times farther than other remote start systems. Voxx, which owns car audio brands Jensen and RCA, also is developing next-generation keyless locking systems that use iris scanning technology.
