Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. has released a darkened teaser image of the front end its new XV Concept vehicle ahead of the vehicle's introduction next month at the Geneva auto show.
The concept model is expected to preview the next-generation Subaru Crosstrek crossover vehicle, which will share a new modular platform with the Impreza small car. Subaru showed a pair of Impreza-based concept vehicles last autumn at the Tokyo auto show.
Production versions of the 2017 Impreza and 2018 Crosstrek are expected to be wider and lighter than their current models. They will be powered by a new-generation of Subaru’s flat-four engines equipped with cylinder deactivation and possibly direct fuel injection system, according to media reports. A plug-in hybrid variant also could be in the works.
