Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd.’s Subaru brand aims to surpass 1 million annual sales this year for the first time ever.

Subaru sold about 980,000 vehicles worldwide in 2015, up 7% from the previous year. Last year’s volume was driven by a 13% jump to about 580,000 units in the U.S. The company predicts its global deliveries will rise 6% this year.

U.S. sales are constrained by the company’s local production capacity. But Subaru plans to begin expanding its factory in Indiana this summer by nearly one-third to achieve annual capacity of 394,000 units by the end of 2016.
