The South African government is planning an 11.5 billion-rand ($734 million) auto supplier park near Durbin, Bloomberg News reports.

The 1,000-hectare (2,500-acre) project aims to strengthen the country’s auto supplier network and extend a government auto incentive program that has attracted new assembly plants operated by BMW, Ford and Toyota.

SA President Jacob Zuma says the country is readying a new and broader plan to support its auto industry beyond 2020. He says the strategy should be completed by next March.
