Software Snag Disrupts Lexus Nav Systems in U.S.

Toyota Motor Corp. says satellite navigation systems in its Lexus luxury vehicles across much of the U.S. were disrupted on Monday, perhaps by a coding error in an app it distributed to them remotely.

Toyota says it has not determined the exact cause of the problem, which has been reported by Lexus customers in Chicago and across several southern states. It also isn’t yet clear whether Lexus can fix the issue by downloading an update wirelessly or will require owners to bring their vehicles back to a Lexus dealership.
