Volkswagen Group’s Skoda unit says it may not decide for another year whether to enter the U.S. market.
The company floated the idea earlier this week of introducing its Kodiaq large SUV in the U.S. after debuting the new model in South Korea in 2017.
But CEO Bernhard Maier tells Automotive News Europe the company first will test the export market to Iran. The brand currently is in talks with a local import partner there. He says Skoda, which has no dealer network or distribution system in the U.S., is “in no rush” to explore the American market.
