September Car Sales Rise 9% in U.K.

Sales in the U.K. through the first nine months of 2015 totaled 2.1 million units, up 7% compared with the same period last year. Sales last surpassed 2 million for the period in 2004.
SMMT says September sales rose in all sectors, led by gains in gasoline vehicles (+12% to 237,900 units) and sales to fleets (+15% to 207,700 units). Diesel sales rose 4% to 212,500.
