Thomas Sedran, Volkswagen AG’s head of group strategy, has been chosen to run the carmaker’s commercial vehicles division, effective Sept. 1.

Sedran succeeds Eckhard Scholz, who has elected to leave the company after four years as head of commercial vehicles. Scholz joined VW in 1991 and became head of technical development for its Skoda brand in 2007. He has been with VW’s commercial vehicles business since 2012.
