Second Quake in Italy Idles Supercar Production

A second earthquake in northern Italy has temporarily suspended production in the region at plants operated by Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati.

The 5.8-magnitude quake in Modena, home of Maserati's headquarters, was followed by a 5.6-magnitude aftershock three hours later. The temblors killed at least 16 people in the region.

An earlier 6.0-magnitude earthquake, whose epicenter was about 16 kilometers away, killed seven people on May 20.

Ferrari's headquarters in Maranello is about 18 km southwest of Modena. Maserati is based in Modena and Lamborghini is 19 km east.
