Prakash Patel, who has headed Ford Motor Co.’s global program management since January 2017, has been discharged after being accused of unspecified inappropriate behavior, a source tells Automotive News.
Patel, a fanatic about the Ford Mustang, joined Ford as the Mustang’s program manager in 2009 and later led planning for the 50th anniversary Mustang. Subsequent assignments included strategy manager for Ford’s Lincoln luxury brand and Ford’s global business manager.
Patel’s departure follows that of Raj Nair, Ford’s president of North America, in February. Nair was dismissed for behavior “inconsistent” with the company’s code of conduct.
