SAE Names Industry Relations Chief

SAE International has appointed Andrew Smart as director of industry relations and business development, effective immediately.

Smart joins SAE from the U.S. unit of U.K.-based engineering firm Ricardo plc, where he headed business development and marketing. During his nearly 30 years in the auto industry, Smart also has worked for AVL Powertrain, Tickford Englehard (now part of BASF), Perkins Technology and DAF.
